I was one of the founding partners of South Bay Family Group and when it was conceived and created in the mid 1970's our stated goal was to provide the best primary care possible in the South Bay. While the practice of medicine has changed dramatically, our goal has not: We still strive every day to provide the best care available to all our patients. Each new physician that has joined the group has added his or her own unique qualities and style so that ever patient can find the type of doctor they feel comfortable with.
As for me, when people ask how I feel about medicine today, I always say: "I've never had a boring day at work." I still enjoy working with patients and staff and feel very satisfied when I walk out the door at the end of a busy day. I still enjoy learning new things and interacting with my colleagues. I believe that a healthy lifestyle is the key to good health and I try to educate and encourage my patients to invest in their own wellness by following established guidelines for prevention and treatment of disease.
On a more personal level, our 3 children are adults - the youngest is 25 this year. My wife and I have (mostly) enjoyed 31 years of marriage. Our pleasures now are time with friends, weekends in Palm Springs and plans for more travel. My reading interests run mostly to history and biography. I love sports (especially the Pittsburg Steelers and the Lakers) and hate politics. I have always believed in physical fitness and continue to exercise daily, but my real passion is golf. Although I started this great game a little late in life, I find that hitting a good golf shot is the most satisfying thing I have ever done in the realm of sports.
