Richard Zhen Lu, M.D., Family Medicine

Dr. Lu received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, after which he studied molecular and cellular biology at Harvard University. He received his MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 2000. He finished his internship in Internal Medicine at Boston University Medical School, followed by Radiology residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital. He subsequently completed his Family Medicine residency at UMass Medical Center, with a special interest in the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Prior to joining South Bay Family Medical Group, Dr, Lu served as an attending physician at the Medical Surgical Specialists and Physician Regional Medical Center in Naples, Florida. Dr Lu is currently on staff at Torrance Memorial Medical Center and is actively involved in the South Bay community health care. He is on the committee of Miracle of Living at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. In December 2009, he presented a lecture on Alzheimer's disease to an audience of over 450, which also has been featured on cable television. Dr. Lu is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
