Beth A. Dorn., M.D., Internal Medicine

Doctor Dorn received her BA in Microbiology in 1989 from the University of California Santa Barbara, earning Highest Honors and Phi Beta Kappa membership. She completed the Brown-Dartmouth Combined Program in Medicine and received her MD in 1994. While at Brown University, she accepted an appointment as Research Fellow in Medicine from Harvard Medical School in Reproductive Endocrinology at Mass. General Hospital in Boston. In 1997 she completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Harvard's Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge and passed the Internal Medicine Boards.

Having been raised in Palos Verdes and graduating from Palos Verdes high School in 1984, Doctor Dorn returned from her East Coast training to the South Bay to live near her family in 1999. She has practiced in both group and solo settings, merging her Manhattan Beach solo practice with South Bay Family Medical Group in 2006. Her areas of expertise include general internal medicine, osteoporosis and office gynecology. She enjoys treating everything from diabetes and hypertension to asthma and tennis elbow in both male and female patients 15 years and older. She emphasizes preventive medicine, educating and involving her patients in healthcare decisions.

In her free time, Doctor Dorn loves spending time with her family. Additionally, she plays the violin, formerly performing with the Peninsula Symphony until the birth of her son in 2007. Other interests include listening to music, enjoying the beach and reading fiction. She, her husband and son live in San Pedro.
