Bridges is a multidisciplinary adult psychiatric program located within San Pedro Peninsula Hospital. Services include acute (in-hospital) psychiatric care, as well as partial hospitalization and outpatient programs. Bridges also specializes in gero- psychiatric services, working closely with local nursing homes and senior programs to meet the needs of older adults in our community.

The Bridges staff is a caring team of professionals from several health care disciplines. The case manager coordinates each patient's care under the direction of a physician, while the therapeutic team develops a personalized treatment plan based on specific conditions and needs. Patients are periodically evaluated to assure their progress toward established goals. Family involvement is encouraged.

Psychiatric and Medical Physicians
All patients admitted to the Bridges unit are under the care of both a psychiatric and medical physician. Doctors work together, involving other specialists when needed, to ensure that each patient receives the highest quality psychiatric and medical care.

Nursing Staff
A Nurse Manager, Charge Nurses, Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants are utilized as appropriate, and our 24-hour care delivery system constantly adjusts staffing to meet patients'needs.

Therapists/Case Managers/Discharge Planner
Bridges assures that each patients treatment is coordinated by a professional with advanced training in the field of mental health. Our registered and licensed therapists provide stimulating group therapy, ongoing case management and assure communication and coordination continuing through discharge. In order to obtain optimal treatment outcomes, our therapists encourage the involvement of family members, caregivers and placement personnel.

Psychiatric Support Professionals
Therapeutic activities specialists, physical therapists, speechtherapists, psychologists, dieticians, chemical dependency specialists and occupational therapists are a sampling of the support professions that comprise our adjunctive services. Spiritual care is also integrated into each patient's individualized treatment plan.
