![]() At Little Company of Mary, we realize that when cancer is diagnosed, your whole world changes in an instant. It helps when you are able to receive oncology care close to home and for those you love. Patients are assured that they will receive top quality oncology care at their local community hospital, as well as access to many outstanding specialists, state of the art diagnostic services, in-house and community support services, and the most advanced treatment options available. Cancer can deplete physical, emotional and spiritual reserves so, as part of our mission, we commit to caring for the whole person-physical, emotional and spiritual. We believe that this holistic approach to medicine can help aid in the recovery process and help the patient better cope with the rigors of treatment. At Little Company of Mary, we are also committed to continually improving the quality of oncology medical care. We have ongoing approval as a designated cancer center from the American College of Surgeons. Each week, experts from various disciplines review interesting and difficult oncology cases at our Tumor Board Cancer Conference. Within the hospital and Cancer Program, outcomes of care are reviewed through participation in the Cancer Registry program. All of our oncology cases are abstracted and reviewed for cancer stage at diagnosis, treatment, complications and long-term outcomes. Providing exceptional medical care, of course, also involves meeting the emotional and spiritual needs of our patients. Through the cooperative efforts of the oncology medical and nursing staffs, pastoral care, discharge planners, case managers and home health and hospice care providers, we strive to provide the compassionate, well-rounded medical care that each patient deserves. |
