Free Community Heart Fair at Little Company of Mary

TORRANCE, Calif. -- Little Company of Mary Hospital will present Heart Fair 2001 on Thursday, February 22, from 3-7 p.m. The community is invited to take part in this free event which will take place at the hospital�s Del E. Webb Center for Health Education, on the corner of Earl and Maricopa Streets.

�This is a great learning opportunity for the community. There will be a team of heart specialists on hand for one-on-one consultations as well as mini-lectures on the importance of exercise, new technologies and heart medications,� said Community Services Manager Kathryn Sprague. �Plus, there will be numerous displays giving people a chance to view up close machines like the Echocardiography and Intravascular Ultrasound, stents, balloons, pacemakers and much more.�

In addition, there will be free screenings available for blood pressure and body mass analysis. Dietary specialists will demonstrate tips for eating healthy, including tasting opportunities and recipes to take home. Tours of the Nuclear Medicine area, Catheterization Lab and Community Resource Center will also be offered.
