American Diabetes Association Acknowledges Little Company of Mary |

The American Diabetes Assocation Education Recognition Certificate for qualtiy diabetes self-management education program was recently awarded to Little Company of Mary. That certification recognized that Little Company of Mary's Diabetes Self-Management Program meets the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education Programs.
Programs applying for this Recognition voluntarily submit to a rigorous review process by experts in the field of diabetes who evaluate each program on its ability to provide patients with a comprehensive individualized education program. Programs that achieve Recognition status have a staff of knowledgeable health professionals who can provide participants with comprehensive information about diabetes management. It insures that the patient will receive high quality service. This status is awarded for three years.
According to the American Diabetes Association, there are 15.7 million people (or 5.9% of the population) in the United States who have diabetes. It is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States. |
