Tipper Gore To Be Featured at This Friday's SIMPLE ABUNDANCE: A DAY OF WOMEN'S WELLNESS Conference |

TORRANCE, CA � Tipper Gore, nationally recognized mental health advocate and wife of former Vice President of the United States Al Gore, will be the keynote speaker at Little Company of Mary Community Health Foundation�s fourth �Simple Abundance: A Day of Women�s Wellness.� The all-day conference will be held this Friday, March 15, at the Torrance Marriott Hotel and will feature a wide array of speakers and seminars.
Mrs. Gore is a long-time champion of health services for the homeless, the mentally ill and children. She is the founder of Tennessee Voices for Children, a coalition promoting mental health services for children, and co-founder of Families for the Homeless, a non-partisan partnership that
aims to raise public awareness of homelessness and its issues.
�Simple Abundance: A Day of Women�s Wellness� is a full-day conference and luncheon
focusing on the health and well-being of women. Participants can choose among a number
of sessions on topics such as body image, fitness, relationships, financial planning and much more. Speakers include 83-year-old champion race walker Fan Benno-Caris and Miriam Nelson, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Physical Fitness at Tufts University and best-selling author.
Keynote speaker Tipper Gore is an accomplished writer and photographer. In partnership with
the National Mental Health Association (NMHA), she produced a major photographic exhibit entitled �Homeless in America: A Photographic Project.� The proceeds of her personal photographic journal of her life as �Second Lady,� �Picture This: A Visual Diary� were donated to the National Health Care for
the Homeless Council. Mrs. Gore is also the author of �Raising PG Kids in an X-Rated Society,�
a book about parenting and the media.
Tickets for �Simple Abundance: A Day of Women�s Wellness� are $150. All proceeds benefit Little Company of Mary�s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) program, which provides compassionate and comprehensive care and treatment for sexual assault victims. This program includes two SART Centers at Little Company of Mary - San Pedro Hospital and the Little Company of Mary Women�s Wellness Center in Redondo Beach.
