Mark Costa Named Chief Operating Officer of
Little Company of Mary Health Services (9/27/99)
TORRANCE, CA � Mark Costa has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Little Company of Mary Health Services (LCMHS).
Costa, President of Little Company of Mary Hospital, was appointed to this new position by Blair Contratto, President and CEO of Little Company of Mary Health Services.
As COO, Costa will oversee all acute care, post-acute care and ambulatory operations for LCMHS, a not-for-profit integrated health care system. LCMHS includes Little Company of Mary Hospital, San Pedro Peninsula Hospital, the Medical Institute of Little Company of Mary, three skilled nursing facilities, four urgent care centers, three fund-raising foundations and many other affiliates throughout the greater South Bay area. The system includes nearly 4,000 employees.
President and CEO of Little Company of Hospital since 1972, Costa has been responsible for management and operations of the 354-bed facility serving the South Bay and Palos Verdes Peninsula. His responsibilities have also included the post-acute care division of LCMHS (450 licensed beds at four skilled nursing facilities) and two ambulatory care centers.
Costa holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master�s degree in public health, both from UCLA. He has served as Executive Vice President at Little Company of Mary Hospital, as well as Vice President, Administration, at Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Torrance, California.
