Little Company of Mary and Blue Cross of California Agree to Multi-Year Contract

Contract Takes Effect July 1, 2000
Torrance, CA -- Little Company of Mary and Blue Cross of California today announced the signing of a multi-year agreement for hospital services for Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance and San Pedro Peninsula Hospital in San Pedro. The new contract will take effect July 1, 2000.
�We are delighted to again welcome Blue Cross members to Little Company of Mary Hospital and San Pedro Peninsula Hospital and look forward to taking care of their medical and health care needs,� commented Blair Contratto, CEO of Little Company of Mary. �I want to thank all of our loyal patients, physicians, employees and everyone else who helped to make this contract happen through their calls, letters and enthusiastic support,� Contratto continued. According to Max Brown, senior vice president of Network Management for Blue Cross of California, �We are pleased to have reached an agreement. Our goal has always been to reach a positive outcome so that our members may once again access the services of Little Company of Mary Hospital and San Pedro Peninsula Hospital.� Brown noted that the multi-year agreement applies to Blue Cross of California�s Prudent Buyer PPO, the CaliforniaCare HMO and Medicare secondary and Medicare supplement members.

Little Company of Mary Health Services (LCMHS) is a not-for-profit, integrated, regional health care system based in Torrance, California. It is comprised of more than 28 health care sites throughout the greater South Bay area, extending north to El Segundo, south to San Pedro, west to the beach cities and east to Carson.
