Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone over the age of 15 is eligible to volunteer. The commitment to volunteering varies from person to person, for this reason, we offer very flexible schedules for our volunteers. We can help you to establish a volunteer schedule that can work in today's busy lifestyles. You choose the days, hours and areas that most interest you. Working men and women can volunteer as little as an hour a month. Retirees and students often volunteer many hours a week. It's all up to you!
After an initial interview, volunteers are assigned to their chosen areas and attend a site orientation. Training programs and continuing education are offered to help keep volunteers sharp.
Volunteers also have the opportunity to join the hospital auxiliary. Auxiliary members participate in many fund-raising activities and donate many hours of service.
At Which Facility Should I Volunteer?
Volunteering is a uniquely personal experience. If you feel strongly about volunteering in your own community, you might choose the facility closest to your home. Otherwise, there are many programs within each facility that may be of interest to you. The best way to get started in a rewarding volunteer position is to contact your local volunteer office below.
